Ceil Chapman is perhaps best known as Marilyn Monroe's favorite designer, and rightfully so. But Ceil Chapman was a mid-century Hollywood & Socialite favorite in general. This 1960's dress & coat set is a very rare example of the versatility that Ceil Chapman's designs embraced. And frankly, the price is great considering you are getting two gorgeous pieces that can be worn separately or together for the price of one! These pieces were admittedly difficult to photograph due to the reflective opalescence & metallic matelassé material. The set is a fine example of the "space-age" trend of the 60's with a visually sophisticated "digital camo" print design. The sleeveless mock-neck sheath dress dramatically accentuates curves with it's nipped waist and form fit. The coat is a divinely tailored military double breasted (pea coat) style that features jeweled (Swarovski crystal & topaz) buttons. An absolutely unforgettable, one of a kind, very rare vintage set that is guaranteed to turn heads and leave a lasting impression!

This set is in excellent vintage condition. Perhaps worn once or twice. The only thing I would do to this set is reinforce the buttons on the coat, they are a little looser than they should be but are NOT in jeopardy of falling off at this point. Both pieces are clean under the arms.
